Rest in Peace, Yasmin Ahmad

Yet, another talented human in the world passed away with thousands of people mourning for the loss of remarkble film director/creative executive director of Leo Burnett. I like Yasmin Ahmad's movie - Sepet and her Petronas commercial. I admire her alot because she captured the multiracial essence that portrayed in her films and commercial. Her emotional approach makes me realised that we should appreciate and respect each other because we are "One Malaysia". Therefore, she also capture the essence of "togetherness" - bringing not only family close but the other races.
"Her television commercials and films are well-known in Malaysia for their humour, heart and love that crosses cross-cultural barriers, in particular her ads for Petronas, the national oil and gas company. Her works have won multiple awards both within Malaysia and internationally."
- wikipedia.org.
We will definately going to miss her thought-provoking commercials this coming new year 2010. She will always be remembered and hope she can continue her same career in her next life. *sob*

M.J is dead

I was shocked when I heard MJ is dead. Never thought he would leave the world so SOON!

Honestly, he's the legend. He made the music world alive and his unique dance moves. Oh well, people just come and go. Hope he's persuing his 'career' in the underworld. hahaha! Rock the hell! :p

The end of living

Apparently, I just heard from my sis that my 6th grandaunt passed away. I'm not sure which one because there are many and couldn't remember all of them as I only see them once in a blue moon - relative's funeral & chinese new year perhaps. It was sad that she couldn't make it after chinese new year. Her family got to mourn during this 2009 chinese new year. According some certain religious culture, you can't celebrate chinese new year after one's passed away not more than 100 days and some even said can't get married for 3 years. It's just some kind of pantang-ness where you cannot show people that you're happy celebrating chinese new year when someone in your family passed away. However, cannot have married atmosphere in 3 years are ridiculous. I can't find a reason or some myth to support this as I personally did not practice this at home but I'd like know to why. I wonder should I study stuff like culture and supernatural. I guess I'll be good at it. hahhaa.. But I guess my mom will kill me. I seriously do interested in those stuff since I was young but I guess it was just an interest. I don't wanna be a feng shui lou or something. I just curious to know this stuff. In fact, I tend to get excited when watching or listening to those cultural and supernatural stuff.

Anyway, I din't know much about my 6th grandaunt. I'm not sure if she was my grandfather's sister. Those early days, couples got nothing to do. Always 'beranak macam babi betina' which making the younger generation like us hardly remember what to address them. hahaha.. My both grandparents have like more than 5 childrens and so my great grandparents. I wonder how could they survive. Perhaps during that poor-war kind of period is a good thing to have many kids. First, the more kids you have, the more money u will earn because ur kids will find a job. Secondly, in case during the war all your children are spilt, out of 10 maybe 8 will still be with u. hahaha.. Thirdly, those days most ppl can't afford to send their kids to school, so less expenses. Their mission of life - a better food and place to stay. Last but not least, no shopping frenzy, no cars buying and no iPod. So their money usually goes to food and their parents need not need to give them extra money to buy some useless stuff as we did today. hahaaha. Life back then was really pityful. Therefore we need to enjoy and appreciate our parents now. We don't have to work to support our studies (probably some support their own fees but I guess most of us doesn't), food and so-called useless stuff.

Well, unfortunately I couldn't attend her funeral. Hope she could hear my prayers and rest in peace. I was hoping that her family could burn her a laptop or something with my blog address so she could read it. hahahah.. Who knows when she's in the other side of the world she will be able to read in english and surf net and blog perhaps? hahahahh. Oh well, it's not a good thing to hear relatives passed away every year. sad.
